Referral question - If your clients are happy with your service, why wouldn't you ask a handful to be a go-to? Happy customers in my experience are happy to do so. I understand you said they don't want to be called all the time but if it's an exception vs rule, what's the harm? Just seems so odd why not if they are happy. In this day in age, you can pay people in India to write reviews or FB posts, so talking to someone who saw that 10 x return seems like a no-brainer. Just interested on your thoughts a little further because I would question that if someone said that to me.
